Equips with right responses in light of Christ’s coming.
While we await Christ’s return, 2 Peter establishes our footing on the more sure Word of Prophecy, trusting that the promises of God will always be fully realized in His perfect time. The Word of God continues to guide and sure our faith, preparing us for the day when Christ in all Glory will be revealed.
“Peter’s point in 2 Peter 1:19-21 is that believers can rely fully on the Scriptures because their source is God Himself. If prophecy never came by the will of man, then Scripture is trustworthy, authoritative, unchanging, and anchored in truth. No prophet ever decided on his own to speak for God. Instead, God initiated the message, and the Holy Spirit guided them, ensuring that what they spoke and recorded in Scripture was truly the very words of God.”
