Hebrews 12

Therefore:

Faith is: Living in the Promises of God

as if they are already received.

Walking in and by Faith in God while persevering in trials, persecutions, difficulties and testings.

Faith is: the substance of things hoped for,

the evidence of things not seen

Recap: Faith acts out of bold confidence

and is backed up by the power of the unseen.

Faith is God using the ordinary to do the extraordinary.

Faith is needed in all situations.

Faith is fueled by God‘s Word By His power, By His promises. .

The Breakdown:

Therefore since we are surrounded…

Heb. 12:1-4

1 Therefore

we also,

since we are surrounded

by so great a cloud of witnesses,

let us lay aside every weight,

and the sin which so easily

ensnares us,

and let us run

with endurance: (Barclay!!)

the race: (AND FINISH IT!)

that is set before us,

2 looking unto Jesus, (to fold: looking away from looking onto)

the author

and finisher  (Phil. 1:6 He Who has begun)

(How? CHS)

of our faith,

Who

for the joy

that was set before Him

endured

the Cross, (He remained: Jesus kept…..)

despising the shame,

and has sat down

at the right hand

of the throne of God.

3 For consider

Him

who endured

such hostility

from sinners

against

Himself,

lest you become weary

and discouraged

in your souls.

4 You have not yet

resisted to bloodshed,

striving against sin.
